An opportunity to discover and observe
During your journey from the shores of Xcalak to Chetumal bay, you will have the opportunity to observe dolphins and rays and enjoy viewing the barely touched, mangrove-covered coastline. The channels through which you will travel straddle the border of Belize and Mexico and were once part of a trade route – along the way you’ll enjoy three species of mangrove trees, small fish and may even be lucky enough to spot a manatee. The diverse ecosystem surrounding Xcalak is not to be missed.
If you choose, you may also stop along the journey to snorkel!
Leave the car keys behind
Once you are settled into your accommodations on the shores of Xcalak, there is no need to drive to our shop – you can leave the car keys behind and await Luis’ arrival on his boat, Sharon. Luis will pick you up on the beach or at the dock and after your journey to bird island, you will be safely returned to your home away from home.
