The perfect place to dive
What makes scuba diving in Xcalak so unique is that it is undiscovered. In the sleepy fishing village of Xcalak, you will not experience troves of tourists or be inundated with tacky trinkets and loud bars. Xcalak lies along a beautiful stretch of coastline located just six hours South of Cancun and has a population of approximately 500.
Once you are settled into your accommodations on the shores of Xcalak, there is no need to drive to and from a dive shop – you can leave the car keys behind and await Luis’ arrival on his boat, Sharon. Luis will pick you up on the beach or at the dock, with tanks ready to go for the day.
Depending on the location of your accommodations and the dive sites you choose that day, Luis will drop you back “home” for your surface interval so that you may enjoy a quick break – this means you don’t have to pack up for the day, between dives you are able to grab a snack, fill up on water or just relax on a lounge chair and enjoy the beautiful views.

A relaxed, custom, low-cost experience
Diving Xcalak prides itself in offering a relaxed, custom, low-cost experience. What you will not find here are large boats with dozens of divers led by young, inexperienced, transient dive masters with limited knowledge of the dive sites and reef system in Xcalak. Diving Xcalak has been traversing the waters and Xcalak reef system for more than 25 years.
In addition to scuba diving, we offer bird watching trips, snorkeling and boat tours to see and experience the diverse biosphere surrounding Xcalak.
